This letter is to commend and support Ms. Robin Hardy for her on going support for the youth of the Operation SafeHouse Transitional Living Program in Riverside Ca. The SafeHouse TLP provides housing, case management services, job/education services, counseling and life skills to 20 homeless youth between the ages of 18 and 21 years old.
Our youth come to us with a significant lack of information and knowledge in regard to even the very basic tasks of daily life. They can stay up to 18 months and during that time we assist them to get their GED and /or enroll in college; find work and save towards self sufficiency.
Robin Hardy and her group have been providing Life Skills classes for our youth twice a month at no cost to them or to our agency. The class is one of the workshops with the largest attendance and the feedback from the youth is very positive. As the word gets around to our tenants the attendance increases.
It is with great pleasure that I recommend that Robin Hardy continue to operate to educate and inform our homeless youth. It would be a great loss to us and to the community otherwise.
